Bloom where your planted...

This is not in the bible but it's still good. I read this somewhere and I thought it was a really good thought until I was reminded of it this week. I broke my ankle in four places in February of this year. This required surgery and nonmovement. If you know anything about me this has been hard and a very slow process but I'm getting there.

In order to bloom where you are planted takes some time so don't be too hard on yourself.

God sometimes makes us uncomfortable because at times we can be too comfortable. It is so easy to become complacent where we are, but Isaiah 55:8-9 tells us otherwise.

8 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. 9 “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts

This scripture says it all. So while I am being planted in this new season of my life, I pray I bloom according to His will.

Here are some steps that are helping me, Bloom.

  1. Take captive of your thoughts! We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:5 Taking your thoughts captive simply means gaining control over what you think about yourself and life.

  2. Just BE STILL. This is hard to do but it is so needed. We can't hear God if we are always moving. And, moving at times can seem like that is what we are supposed to do. If we don't take time to just rest and be still and know that He is God then He will take care of our next steps, remember our steps are ordered by God so just BE STILL.

  3. Bloom, where you are planted, doesn't mean to be stagnant. No, God is constantly improving us and sometimes we have to be transplanted to another place in order to grow and bloom fully.
