Walking on the Edge

I was sharing with a sister in Christ today some things that were going on in my life and the hard decisions I had to make. As I spoke with her, I saw myself walking on the edge of a big hole. The big hole was some difficult decisions that had to be made. I could not, although I tried to fix it.

When I say walking on the edge, I mean not getting entangled with all the nonsense. Staying away from the drama but far enough so that when you see that you are needed to step in you do, but if you don't, just walk the edge. God sometimes gives us insight into the things in our lives that He has brought us through later on in our lives. Not to say you are better than them, no, but you have a window seat to know how to pray but don't get caught up in the issues. You just have to walk on the edge. Yes, you see it but you don't have to fix what you did not break. That is NOT your job. Too many times we as Christians try to fix things and yes that's a noble thing to do but God did not call us to do that. We are not the fixer of broken things, God is. I know and I am talking to myself as well...we have a God complex. My Sweet Mother In-love called it' tending to God's business". It is not ours to fix. Stop trying to fix what's not yours. It doesn't belong to you. It belongs to God. Now, with that being said, we have the great opportunity to PRAY. Here's what the Word says about when we pray.

-1 John 1 5:14 says This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.

-1John 5:15 says And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.

-Eph. 1:18 says I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people,

God has given us a way out. We don't have to fix people. We have to live the life God has called us to live and trust God with the rest. It takes courage and faith to walk on the edge so this is not for the faint at heart.

1 Thessalonians 5:14 says;

We urge you, brethren, to admonish the unruly, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with everyone.

This is it! Encourage, help, and be patient. Not try to do God's work. Our shoulders are not strong enough and we were not built for that.

I use to sing a song at VBS years ago and it goes like this...

Our God is so Big so Strong and So Mighty there's Nothing Our

God can't do!
