Month of the Military Child

April was the month of the military child and I could not let it go by without acknowledging my military children. Ralph and I have been married for 27 yrs. but the last 23 years have been filled with lots of moving and adjusting. We have moved at least 18 times and my kids have been to too many schools to count.

They have had to say bye to many friends and most of all their dad. Ralph has been on many missions that took him away from home for long periods.

Military kids are truly impressive. They live all the challenges of military life, but they never signed up for it. They experience living in other countries and they learn to accept change and adapt to difficulties. They find their inner courage after being the new kid or a foreigner in a strange land. Many military kids grow into confident, curious, and courageous individuals.

If anyone deserves recognition for their selfless service it is military children.

Did you know the official flower of the military child is the dandelion because its seeds are blown far and wide by the wind but it will always plant roots and blossom wherever it lands?
